For aperitifs or spontaneous meals with colleagues, sometimes all you need is a few high-quality products to prepare simple but irresistible appetizers.

With Juliette’s breads, brioches and baked specialties, you can put together sophisticated combinations in just a few minutes that will surprise your guests, embellish your festive table and give everyone moments of true enjoyment.

Sourdough bread, butter & anchovies: the art of tasty, delicious simplicity
Generously spread a slice of sourdough bread with high-quality, soft butter and top with two or three anchovy fillets. Simply perfect!

Crostini with raw ham, ricotta and black pepper
Spread a layer of ricotta on small crispy slices of our wholegrain baguette, place a strip of raw ham on top and finally grind some freshly pepper over it. A simple, very elegant snack.

Nordic bread, cream cheese and salmon with dill
Spread a layer of cream cheese on Nordic bread. Add a thin slice of salmon, a few sprigs of dill and a little pepper. Sophisticated and ready in 30 seconds.

Brioche & Roquefort – the surprising combination of sweet and salty
Lightly toast the brioche, spread it with mild Roquefort and add a drop of honey. The balance between sweet and salty works wonderfully.

The French tradition of the Christmas Yule log.

A warm and cherished symbol of the holiday season, the Christmas yule log finds its origins in an ancient custom: in centuries past, a real wooden log was placed in the hearth to burn throughout Christmas Eve. It embodied light, protection, and the spirit of togetherness. Over time, this ritual transformed into the iconic French dessert we know today.

The modern yule log brings together pâtisserie craftsmanship, creativity, and indulgence — a sweet tribute to the convivial spirit that defines every Christmas celebration. Whether traditional or reinvented with contemporary flavors, each bûche carries a touch of magic, evoking memories of family gatherings, laughter, and shared joy around the festive table.

This year, our pastry chef Lenka presents two tempting creations that combine elegance and tradition with the sophistication of contemporary flavours. These are Bûche creations that we offer in two sophisticated variations: with chocolate and blood orange, and exotic, with coconut, mango and passion fruit
Our Bûches, serving six, shaped and decorated with craftsmanship, elevate the fine art of holiday desserts to a festive level and embellish any table.

We invite you to discover Juliette’s Yule logs from Saturday, 29th November at your favourite Juliette’s store and try them in individual portions.

The Yule logs are available from Monday, 1st December in our stores and in our online shop.

Julie and Lenka: two women who have mastered their craft

Juliette – pain d’amour is proud to introduce its two new managers, who are responsible for production in the bakery and patisserie: Julie Unterreiner joins the company as head baker, while Lenka Stackova is officially appointed head patissier after an exciting career.

With these two appointments, Juliette – pain d’amour reaffirms its mission: to offer exceptional, artisanal creations that combine taste, expertise, and responsible commitment.

Julie Unterreiner – A master of French baking

Julie Unterreiner, originally from Alsace, is a young head baker who is considered one of the greatest hopes of French artisan baking. She is vice world champion in the team competition “International Meilleur Jeune Boulanger” (2022), winner of the national prize “Meilleure Jeune Boulangère de France” (2021) and has been awarded the MAF Boulangerie gold medal and the prestigious CAP de l’Excellence.

Julie trained at the Centre Bernard Stalter in Eschau and recently obtained the Brevet de Maîtrise en Boulangerie (master’s certificate in baking). She brings refined expertise and exceptional care to the work of Juliette.

At her side, Juliette – pain d’amour is committed to Foricher Les Moulins, a producer and supplier of high-quality French flours. Julie Unterreiner, who knows the special characteristics of these flours inside out, will ensure continuity and the highest standards in the production of bread and baked goods.

Lenka Stackova – A brilliant and passionate career change

Lenka Stackova first studied chemistry at the University of Brno, where she earned her master’s degree and then her PhD. She then came to Zurich and joined the University of Zurich as a research assistant. But even as a little girl, Lenka spent precious time baking with her grandmother, a passion that has never left her.

In 2017, her husband gave her a voucher for a course on “How to bake macarons” for Christmas, her first real step into the demanding world of French patisserie. Mastering the art of macaron making awakened a passion for French patisserie in her, which she deepened through courses and practice in her own kitchen. This perseverance ultimately led her to an important decision: in 2021, she decided to follow her calling and devote herself entirely to patisserie. After years of experience in renowned patisserie establishments, Lenka Stackova joined Juliette as sous chef in June 2024, where she quickly familiarized herself with the intricacies of artisanal French patisserie. Thanks to her aesthetic sensibility, she is known for her great precision and distinctive creativity.

In July 2025, Lenka was promoted to head pastry chef and has since been bringing her unique approach, which combines precision and passion, to Juliette’s bakery.

Juliette’s News for Easter: 

This year, Easter is a little overdue… and that’s just as well: with spring well and truly underway, egg hunts should be taking place under warmer skies!

One thing hasn’t changed: our pastry chef Julien has put his heart and soul into creations as gourmet as they are delicate, to delight young and old alike.

So here’s Juliette’s “Délice de Pâques”: an original Easter cake – a delicate creation with pecan crumble, gianduja cream, dulce de leche mousse, mango coulis and vanilla whipped cream.
Available as a cake for 6, or as an individual cake.

A limited edition that should be reserved immediately, available in our boutiques or in our online shop until the end of April 2025.

Exciting News: Our new boulangerie is now open!

We are thrilled to announce the grand opening of our brand-new bakery and pastry store! On September 27th, 2024, we officially opened our doors, bringing the freshest, most delicious french baked goods to the community in Thalwil, on the shore of the lake Zurich.

A new culinary paradise by the lake
Juliette is extremely proud to have been selected by the municipality of Thalwil from a hand-picked group of players in the food industry to be part of this new, original concept. The “Central-Treff” www.central-treff.ch at Gotthardstrasse 12, just a few steps from the SBB train station, offers a wide range of products from dedicated artisans, which will complement Juliette’s famous products such as the tarte au citron méringuée or the raspberry croissant.

Expanded presence around Zurich
The opening of the boutique in Thalwil is an important step in the growth strategy of Juliette – pain d’amour. “The success of Juliette in Erlenbach has prompted us to consider expanding on the left bank of Lake Zurich. This region offers a large catchment area for customers. Some are already customers at our Bleicherweg branch and have encouraged us to take this step,” says Nicolao Colombo, co-founder of Juliette – pain d’amour. “Our goal remains to offer an unforgettable boulangerie and pâtisserie experience that combines the high quality of the products with innovative recipes and a welcoming atmosphere.”

A varied menu to suit all tastes
The new boulangerie and pâtisserie will offer a varied menu that includes the following:

  • Artisan breads: baguette in the French tradition, sourdough bread, Nordic bread or even rye bread.
    Juliette’s breads are made entirely in-house and baked fresh every morning in the laboratory on Bleicherweg after a 24-hour fermentation process.
  • Viennoiserie: Juliette offers a very “Frenchy” selection of Viennoiseries, from the traditional butter croissant to the almond croissant, without forgetting the – now famous – raspberry croissant, complemented by pain aux raisins, Suisse and other chaussons aux pommes and milk buns.
  • Pâtisseries and desserts: A tempting selection of cakes and tarts made with precision and passion, such as fruit tarts or the famous Saint-Honoré, which are essential for a birthday or other event with family, friends or work colleagues.
  • Snacks: A lunch break with healthy and fresh products: This is what Juliette – pain d’amour offers, with salads for all tastes, varied sandwiches and gourmet quiches.
  • Seasonal specialties: Juliette offers dedicated products that celebrate the flavors of each season.
  • For companies: Juliette also offers a wide range of products specially defined for companies wishing to organize breakfasts or business lunches for their teams in the office.

…and our pastry chef Julien has concocted a very special delight to share with the family: this year, Juliette’s Mother’s Day cake skillfully combines the exquisite, sweet flavors of orange and strawberry, with the pep brought by lime.

The cake combines a base of orange-flavored “pain de Gênes” with wild strawberry coulis and a yuzu-lime-orange mousse.

Valentine’s cake – The divine quiproquo: when Saint-Honoré met Saint-Valentin

Saint-Honoré, the patron saint of pâtissiers, was wandering around in the sky, marveling at the clouds of caramel and stars made of powdered sugar, when he spotted Saint-Valentin flirting with angels.

Saint-Honoré had sparkling eyes and came up to him with his characteristic French accent: “Well, hello Saint-Valentin! What are you doing here and handing out love arrows?”

Saint-Valentin was a little surprised and replied with a mischievous smile: “Well, I’m sowing love, of course! After all, it is Valentine’s Day.”

Saint-Honoré, showing off his chef’s hat, exclaimed: “Ah, I see! I myself hand out delicious éclairs and heavenly cakes. You could say that I am the patron saint of sweet delights!”

The two saints burst out laughing when they realized the divine misunderstanding. They then decided to combine their talents to create the ultimate Valentine’s Day dessert: a heart-shaped St-Honoré, garnished with delicate raspberry flavors.

A unique creation by our Chef Pâtissier Julien that you can enjoy as a couple or with the family.
